We are so excited to go OVERBOARD for the

12th Annual NACEYs Gala!

Grab your Passport & Ticket to come aboard RMS NACEYs on Tuesday, March 26, 2024!

We will depart from the Westin Richmond to begin our Sea Bound Adventure. All Shipmates be welcomed! Our Captain is excited to see some of our NACE Crewmates & Visiting Passengers. 

The Evenings’ Schedule:⁣

6:00p-7:00p: The Party Begins with Cocktails & Fundraising

  • During Cocktail Hour, the Bar will be OPEN for beer & wine, and at your purchase for liquor

7:00p-8:00p: Plated Dinner⁣

  • Enjoy TableSide Wine service during dinner, but of course, the bar will still be open for your purchase.

8:00p-9:30p: Awards Presentation & Celebrations

  • The bar will still be open for your purchase, so don’t worry, we know being on the ocean makes you thirsty!

9:30p-11:00p: Off to find Buried Treasure at the Golden After Party with Dancing, Drinks & Fun!

  • OPEN BAR for an hour, you score Golden Treasure! After that, enjoy drinks at your purchase as the evening takes us away.

AHOY!Design Challenge Info!

It's once again time for our annual design challenge!

Each year the NACE Chapter of Richmond holds an Awards Gala to celebrate and honor

our talented, amazing, and hard working event professionals.

The Design Challenge is a little friendly competition to start off the Fundraising for this Gala.

Teams of (4) will compete to set up the most eye catching tablescape and take their shot at winning

Judge’s Choice: Best Overall Design, Judge’s Choice: Most Creative Detail, or People’s Choice: Best Overall Design!

Mateys, The Captain said you could even win all three!

Utilizing a hidden selection of chairs, linens, flowers, and design elements provided for you, teams will have limited time to create a unique tabletop design! That's right, you do not know what elements you are working with until the moment you walk into the room when the competition starts. Are you ready to put your design skills and quick-thinking on display when you design a complete event table on the spot? Your industry friends will be cheering you on from the sidelines.


  • Design Challenge has a maximum team of 4 participants.

  • You are either registered as a pre-established team - or - as an individual player to be placed on a random team day of the challenge.

  • All design elements and décor items will be provided to teams by our event sponsors.

  • Participants will have 20 minutes to complete their design on-site.

  • A limited number of teams can participate, registration is offered on a first come first serve basis (register your team or as individual below!)

  • This year we have two main ticket types available. ATTEND TO SPECTATE - or - ATTEND TO PLAY.

  • This meeting, as all of our meetings, are open to members and non-members, if you are a member, don't forget to use your member promo code when you register.

  • When you register for a ticket, you will need to decide if you want to register as an individual to be placed on a random team day of the Design Challenge - or - you can decide to register AS A TEAM of a max of 4 people.

  • When you register as an INDIVIDUAL PLAYER, you will purchase a PLAYER Members & Non Members Ticket and then ADD-ON item of $25 for your INDIVIDUAL PLAYER ticket.

  • When you register AS A TEAM, you will have everyone purchase their own PLAYER Members & Non Members Ticket and then have ONE PERSON pay the ADD-ON item of $100 per team.


Awards will be announced on-site during on March 26, 2024 at The 2024 NACEYs Gala: OVERBOARD.

All NACE members who attend the February meeting will receive one FREE NACEYs submission!

+ ALL NACE members get ONE FREE submission!

All NACE members also receive all additional submissions for $25 instead of $35 ($10 off).
