Being the Buzz with Meghan Ely

Tarrant's West

September 24, 2019

We will hear Meghan Ely speak on "being the buzz."

Learning how to stay top of mind in the wedding industry!

It’s not easy to stay visible in the highly competitive, rapidly changing wedding industry. Whether you are new and finding your way,

or are a 20-year veteran eager to stay relevant, you can end up running yourself into the ground chasing the spotlight.

Before you decide it would be easier to do almost anything else, remember that ours is an industry based on relationships. Opportunities abound to connect with influential peers and clients and ensure both your success and longevity. We’ll help you identify the best ways to stay top-of-mind in an oversaturated industry and even convince you to let go of the top three things you are (needlessly) fretting about right now.

During this session, participants will learn:

  • Ways to stay at the leading edge of technology and trends, even during your busiest times of year, and how to find inspiration outside of the wedding industry

  • How to position yourself as the media’s preferred first point of contact when they need a go-to wedding pro

  • Relationship-focused strategies to help you connect, and stay connected to those in a position to refer business to you

Volunteer with ChildSavers

May 28, 2019

The Richmond NACE Chapter is proud to partner with ChildSavers as this years community service program! Join us for an afternoon of volunteering followed by all you can eat appetizers and happy hour at Bottoms Up Pizza!

There are 3 different volunteering opportunities for the day!

  1. Color a wall mural (mural provided by the child care centers that benefit from ChildSavers programs)

  2. Cut images out of magazines for collage kits (used by the mental health clinicians)

  3. Keep the therapeutic garden beautiful (weeding, planting, etc.)

ChildSavers Story:

At the core of ChildSavers’ mission is a fundamental commitment to the mental well being of children and the positive bond between adult and child. ChildSavers supports this with clinical treatment and education and training services. These services offer reassurance, healing, and the skills necessary to achieve normal life and development.

ChildSavers was founded in 1924 by Martha Patteson (Mrs. Melville C.) Branch in memory of Dr. McGuire Newton. Dr. Newton was one of Richmond’s first pediatricians. Originally established to serve our region’s children during a flu pandemic, ChildSavers soon turned to addressing the mental health and developmental needs of children. Today ChildSavers’ mission specifically focuses on supporting those who have experienced trauma.
